All about appendicitis symptoms

The appendix is a wormlike extension of the cecum and, for this reason, has been called the vermiform appendix. People who have possible appendicitis symptoms should see their doctor, because only a doctor can diagnose and treat the problem. Sometimes, the body is successful in containing ("healing") the appendicitis without surgical treatment if the infection and accompanying inflammation do not spread throughout the abdomen.
The optimum time to treat acute appendicitis is within (24-48 hrs) from the time that the patient developed signs and symptoms in. Within hours the pain travels to the lower right-hand side, where the appendix is located, and becomes constant and severe. In the acute form of the illness, the signs of appendicitis are easier to detect, but they usually occur after the development of complications.
