About nasal polyps symptoms
Nasal polyps are associated with inflammation of the lining of your nasal passages and sinuses that lasts more than 12 weeks.Obstruction of nasal passages is prominent, with associated hyponasal speech and mouth breathing. Adolescents with cystic fibrosis should have follow up with their physician to monitor for the presence of nasal polyps. In those individuals who continue to have significant nasal polyps symptoms or complications, or who are not responding to aggressive medical therapy, surgical removal of the ethmoid sinus and restoration of the natural openings into the sphenoid, frontal, and maxillary sinuses is required. However, facial pain is much more common in people with chronic sinusitis compared to those with nasal polyps.
